José Silveira
Fernando José Silveira is one of the best
representative of the Brazilian clarinet school. Silveira holds doctor (DMA) degree in clarinet performance and his main teachers were José de Freitas & Joel Barbosa.
In his teens, Silveira won several prizes at soloist contests, include the São Paulo Symphony Youth Soloist and at chamber music contests, among others. At the age of 23 years old he was appointed Principal Clarinet at National Symphony Orchestra-Brazil. Also, appointed Clarinet Professor at the Rio de Janeiro State Federal University.   From  2005 until today he is invited to perform at the clarinet section of the Brazilian Symphony. Dr. Silveira has a busy career as free lancer clarinetist, teacher and chamber musician in Brazil.
  As a soloist, Dr. Silveira has been playing with the best Orchestras in South America: OSESP-São Paulo State Symphony/Brazil, National Symphony/Brazil, Cuyo Symphony/Argentina, among others.
Silveira has performed with such conductors as Roberto Minczuc, Kurt Masur, Gabor Ötvos, Roberto Duarte, David Del Pino Klienge and Isaac Karabthevisky. He also maintained an active chamber music career, playing with the likes of Claude Delangle, José Botelho, Noël Devos, Lúcia Barrenechea, Elione Medeiros, Zoltan Peter and José White String Quartet.
  Mr.Silveira plays in numerous music festivals in South/North America, Asia and Europe, and is regularity invited to perform, teach masterclasses and to be jury member of the most important international clarinet contests and festivals worldwide.
